Introduction to Palliative Care (available throughout the year)
Collaboration to enhance support for families and healthcare professionals
This 2-hour Introduction to Neonatal Palliative Care is open to all health care professionals working with families in their perinatal journey. The aim of this is to ensure that babies and their families receive the best possible care at the most challenging time of their lives. The session is made up of bite sized presentations from a variety of parent and health care professional speakers with time for questions and discussion throughout. The same programme is offered each time to enable all staff the chance to attend this training.
The training is endorsed by the NNA, Together for Short Lives, Bliss and BAPM.

Airway Skills Study Day
Following the publication of the BAPM Airway Standards Framework, the network is running Airway Skills Training Days on 30th and 31st January 2025 at the Research, Innovation, Learning and Development (RILD) building in Exeter.
A chance to collaborate across the region in airway equipment, guidelines and practical skills. It will include topics such as intubation, LISA, non-invasive airway adjuncts, and the human factors of difficult airways management.
Places will be available for two attendees from every unit on each day (4 places in total per unit). The programme will be identical on each day, so please only book one date per person.
These dates are initially for consultants and SAS doctors, to support units to clearly evidence implementation of the BAPM framework at this level. Please ensure registration from your team by 11th December. If your unit is unable to use all 4 spaces by this point, remaining spaces will be offered out to the rest of the region and the audience may be widened.
If successful we will explore repeated delivery and a widened audience, so please do give your feedback after the event!
