The South West Neonatal Executive Board

The South West Neonatal Executive Board is a strategic group of senior clinical and non clinical neonatal representatives from across the region and key partners including maternity and child health, commmissioniong and parent representatives. Collectively they provide clear direction and leadership for the SWODN

Our Network is governed by an Executive Board that meets quarterly.  It is made up of elected clinical and managerial neonatal representatives from across the region and key partners including maternity and child health, commissioning and parent representatives.

The primary concern of the SWODN Board is to facilitate, through ODN activity, high quality individualised care for patients requiring neonatal services. It identifies and monitors strategic aims, aligns service development to national and local priorities and ensures the identification of future needs to maintain and improve patient access and equity of service delivery to the required standards.

The Executive Board meets every 4 months and receives formal papers from the Network Team and the established working groups from across the region. It recieves quarterly dashboards which include information on benchmarking, exception reports and risk and makes reccommendations to alliviate quality or capacity risks if required.

Terms of Reference for the Executive Board, Advisory and Working groups have all been written and approved by the Executive Board with an agreed timescale to be reviewed every 12 months.  To view the Terms of Reference for each group please click here.
