Catering/ Refreshment facilities

There is a parent’s room on the unit and there is facility for hot drinks.

The main restaurant, Refresh, located just off the main entrance to the Great Western Hospital, serves a wide selection of hot and cold food.

Costa Cafe: (Mon-Thurs: 08.00-17.30 / Fri: 08.00-15.30 / Sat-Sun: Closed)

Costa Coffee and the Amigo shop can be found in the main entrance to the hospital, opposite the entrance to the main restaurant.

Café Blue: (Mon-Thurs: 08.00-17.30 / Fri: 08.00-1530 / Sat-Sun: Closed)

Café Blue is situated on the ground floor of the entrance to the Brunel Treatment Centre and offers a wide range of teas, coffees, sandwiches, cakes, cold drinks etc.

Other shops on site/nearby

Boots Pharmacy and shop also sell a range of drinks and snacks and other products.

Religious and Spiritual Support

The hospital chaplaincy team care for the spiritual, pastoral and religious needs of patients, visitors and staff in total confidentiality. Your faith and religious/cultural needs will be respected.

Chaplains from many denominations are available for support and advice and a chaplain is on call 24 hours a day. Please ask a member of staff if you would like us to arrange a visit. You can also call the hospital switch board on 01793 604020 and ask for the on-call chaplain.

The central room of the Chaplaincy is set aside for you to come and be quiet It is a space for peace, contemplation and affirmation.  It can be found on the first floor of the Great Western Hospital to the right of the main lifts, before the eye clinic.

Patient and Family Liaison Services

We have a team of experts in our Customer Service Team who manage the complaints process and the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS).

Our friendly team provide confidential advice and support to patients, families and carers.  The team work hard to resolve patient concerns quickly and support patients through the complaints process; the team also welcomes suggestions for improving the patient experience.

In person, between 8.30am and 5pm (Monday to Friday):

On the ground floor of the Great Western Hospital, near Radiology and the hospital cashiers.
